The Office Automation division was founded in 1980 as a result of the Group's calculated diversification into business equipment. The division immediately acquired the agency for Minolta copiers. A few years later the Sharp agency was negotiated, to appeal to a wider market segment looking for a broader range of office products with the same reliable support backing it. Along the way the division attracted other leading international brands from Europe and Japan such as Oki in 1982, Neolt in 1994, and Riso in 1995.

AlMulla's Office Automation division forged ahead of other players in the country by offering - as a single source- the latest and most sophisticated, world-renowned office automation products like the KONICA MINOLTA Dialta laser photocopiers, laser multifunction fax, microfilm printers, book and microfilm scanners; SHARP digital imager series laser photocopiers, facsimile machines, organizers, electronic cash registers, LCD Projectors and Monitors; DeLaRue The Banking Solution; OKI Multifunction digital fax machines; KIP AO, wide format and map copiers; RISO Digital duplicators, and SHRED-ET shredders, LEO Computers, Stratus High Available Servers.

In the 90s, Office Automation ventured into other business related office products, working exclusively with Orga and Fuji Microfilm to capture a market share of the security printing, banking cards and microfilm segments respectively.

Always a forerunner in its field, the Office Automation division responded to the dawning of the information age and the trend for systematization, networking and colorization. Steps were taken to include products with multiple functions to improve and broaden the range of business equipment capabilities. In fact, the division has pioneered a new class of products called Network Office Equipment, which take maximum advantage of combining strengths of office networks to provide customized, efficient, easy-to-use and affordable solutions for document management.
